In recent years, public open air and indoor swimming pools have experienced a revival in many cities all over the globe. Examples of
celebrated old and new pool facilities located in Berlin, Budapest, Beijing, Vancouver, New York, and many other cities offer unique pool
typologies and are landmarks that attract people of all ages who embrace a new culture of bathing.
Houston with its growing population and humid subtropical climate offers the ideal conditions for a public aquatic facility to be located
amidst the vast network of public parks within the city fabric. The design of this aquatic facility is to be integrated into the Memorial Park
Masterplan.
