WaterColor Bezel Watch SPBWC01
This personal project started with an innocent sketch, inspired by watching my 4-year old over the past few months using watercolors to express his
creativity. Watercolors are a powerful tool to explore color blending and gradients. There's an unmatched brightness that watercolors produce,
and impossible to recreate with any other medium.
The watch aims to capture a beautiful color blending gradient by redefining the function of the bezel.
The oversized bezel becomes the canvas that expresses a through-body alternating color gradient from blue to green.
There's a subtle trace of yellow at the green colored border, referring back to the original sketch.
The bezel is oversized to hide the lugs and any watch attachment mechanisms. A blank white dial, white watch case, white bottom lid, and white strap
are used to allow the bezel (the canvas) to be in the foreground and be the commanding focal point.
The crown is of dark color and sharp contrast to the rest of the watch, marking that this watch is a tool as much as a piece of art.
The watch is limited to 1 piece.
Price, undisclosed.
